I am a registered and licensed dietitian living in Portland, Oregon, and hold degrees in Nutritional Sciences and Sociology. I have years of experience providing nutrition counseling and education to people trying to improve their health, and I feel passionately that eating fresh, minimally-processed foods is the first step in achieving this goal.
I never go to the grocery store without a shopping list, and I take time each week to plan my family's meals. I hope that by sharing these meal plans I will inspire others to prepare more home-cooked meals, leading to a resurgence in family dinners, mealtime conversation, and neighborly connections. My favorite pasttimes include surreptitiously peering into friends' refrigerators and sneaking glances into strangers' shopping carts, and I am aware that, if nothing else, this blog will offer others a voyeuristic look into a dietitian's diet.
